We are collaborating in Holland with many working parties united in Landelijk Platform Hulp Tsjernobylkinderen and with several independent self-registered organizations as well.

In 1999 "Kindness" was awarded a diploma by Department for Humanitarian aid of Belarus for humanity, charity and many years work for organizing recovery of children from contaminated zones in Holland.

Our aims

To help children and their families who are suffering of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, to widen the humanitarian contacts and cultural exchange between Belarus and other countries.

Why do we do it?

After the Chernobyl accident Belarus became a zone of ecological disaster. The Republic badly needs medicine and contemporary medical equipment. The realization of protective anti-radiation measures requires expenditures exceeding those available to the Republic of Belarus. The Belarusian people, guiltless victims of the horrendous catastrophe, need the help of the international community. International cooperation with the goal of studying and minimizing the effects of radiation serves the interests of the entire mankind.

Taking children from the contaminated regions to the clean places in the Republic or abroad helps them to get stronger, to resist environmental attack of the contaminated surrounding they are living in.

How do we do it?

BCA "Kindness" selects the children from the contaminated regions and sends them to Holland for the sake of the improvement of their health. The children are sent to Holland from September to June, usually for two months. The group normally consists of 25-35 children of the age 7-12 years. The children come from one school and if possible a complete school class is going together. The group is accompanied by their own teacher and the interpreter selected by "Kindness". During their staying in Holland the children are given lessons, conducted by the teacher, according to the Belarus educational programs.

BCA "Kindness" takes care of all documents, passports, visas needed for the group to go to Holland.

Dutch side chooses loving and caring host families for the children. All costs as lodging, trip, insurance, medical care and other costs for the program for the children are covered by Dutch side.
